I just returned from a 3-night stay at the Marriott Leipzig and wanted to share my impressions.
Upon arrival, I noticed that a corner studio suite was initially assigned to my reservation, but just before check-in, it was silently replaced by a club room. At check-in, I received Room 629 – located right next to the lounge and directly across from the elevators. Unfortunately, every time the lounge door opened or closed, noticeable vibrations could be felt in the bed, and hallway noise was quite present. After a few hours, I asked to switch rooms.
Despite multiple suite categories still showing as available in the app, I was moved to a standard room facing the courtyard – again next to the elevators. While elevator noise wasn’t an issue this time, the construction site just outside the courtyard ensured a sharp wake-up call at 07:30 AM on weekdays.
To be fair, the rooms are nicely appointed – Nespresso machines even in standard categories, comfortable beds, and a clean, well-maintained bathroom. A complimentary bottle of water was provided, although it wasn’t replenished during the stay – which felt a bit stingy for a 5-star property.
Special kudos to the lounge staff – especially the gentleman managing the lounge during my stay. Professional, friendly, and highly attentive. He really stood out in an otherwise rather underwhelming stay.
All in all, not a terrible experience, but certainly a mixed one – and not quite what I expect from a Marriott of this level. Just thought I'd share.
