The real question is how many XP MitjaPod is expecting to earn, because if you haven't hit 180 XP in your Platinum year, you will rollover nothing as part of your soft landing to Gold.

So if planning to earn fewer than 70XP between 1 June and 31 May, go for Platinum now. If planning to earn 70-180 XP in your Platinum year, though, you'll end up in a better position to extend Gold down the road.
