As one that flies the the old shuttle routes 100 or so times a year the door usually closes at about eight minutes before flight time but there is the twist of the flights are often moved up by five minutes so for the 6 am more often than not the flight board says now 555 five minutes early or something like that, often times the gate agent will come on and say we are just waiting for two more passengers or whatever at like 15 minutes prior, but at about eight minutes before the original departure time they will say I guess they aren’t coming and shut the doors, anyhow the days of boarding one minute prior and feeling like you are early are long gone as are the days of easily getting on the earlier flight if for no other reason than the gates are now spread all,over the place

And American I feel like we are late if the door isn’t closed ten minutes prior
