WiFi pricing

I’m 10 hours into a 14-hour QR DOH-SYD flight and have been enjoying having wifi for $10 for the full flight. On BA long hauls I believe it’s $20 (free if you’re flying F), and half that price, I think, within the UK and Europe. I buy it on most of these flights.

But I never buy wifi on AA as I find their pricing obnoxious, I think it’s $35 for long hauls, and something equally offensive for domestic flights. Presumably they’ve done the math and have figured out that it’s more profitable to charge a higher price and have fewer people purchase it than charge a lower price and attract more users. I guess.

So if AA goes to free wifi, will that include long haul flights, or will we continue to be offended by AA’s WiFi pricing?

BTW, I do find it kind of funny that I’ll routinely spend $3,000 to fly long haul J, but am troubled by the $35 WiFi pricing!
