Property Exceeds All Expectations

I can say this is one of the best Hilton brand hotels I’ve had the pleasure to stay in. It’s located in the small village of Menaggio away from the main cities of Como and Belaggio, it is just a very peaceful and relaxing village. There are private boats you can rent to give you a grand tour of the lake just a few minutes from the hotel. Cost starts around 350 Euro’s for 1 hour and go up from there, all the way to an 8 hour total excursion. There is also ferries you can take for a few Euros if you don’t like the private boats. They are also located just down the street from the hotel. From the moment you enter the property, they are very welcoming and assist you in any way possible. The staff are extremely assistive in all forms of the word.

I booked this trip for three nights with 240,000 points. I was booked in a standard room and as a Diamond member was upgraded to the new building to a corner junior suite which had a little view of the lake. I’m not complaining as the room was very well appointed and the balcony was the best part, allowing for us to site outside and relax. As a welcoming gift, they had assorted fruit and a bottle of sparkling win on ice waiting for us. Here are some of the highlights other than the room.
  1. Breakfast was located on the first floor with a fabulous view of the lake from your table. It was a buffet style with all the different types of meats, cheeses and breads you could want. They had over 10 different pastries which were delicious. No I didn’t try them all but the ones I did, they were so good. They had fresh fruit for fruit salad each day along with yogurts and different type of milks. Assorted cereals were also available for you to choose. Fresh squeezed juices were also available. Coffee and tea was always refilled and dirty dishes were removed as finished with. Eggs to order from omelets to fried to any type of soft to hard boiled eggs.
  2. Do not forget to visit the spa if your time permits. We had a spa day and it was truly the time needed to relax and use the many different types of sauna’s and different rooms to just relax and recharge after some hard travel days and the hustle of the larger cities. Even if it’s for just a few short minutes, at least go down and see what they have to offer.
  3. We had dinner one evening on property and if was no disappointment. The flavors were out of this world and the wines which were suggested to accompany each dish were spot-on! I’ve attached pictures of the different dishes just to give you an idea of the quality and meal we had.
If you don’t want to eat within the hotel, there are some great little family restaurants you can visit and get some great Italian dishes. A couple I would recommend highly are the Ristorante Dal Tato and the Ristorante Del Porto are just a short 5 minutes walk from the hotel and have fantastic views of the lake while you dine. The food at Ristorante Dal Tato is prepared is by the wife of the owner and she places her love for Italian food onto each plate.

We took a car service to and from Milan which I would recommend if you’re coming to this property. It is a good distance away from the train stations in Como and really are not overpriced for the service you get. Besides door to door service, That is what I recommend.

I will return to this property without a doubt. If you can, stay here, you will not be disappointed.
