Writing to each hotel? they may not respond in timely manner + follow ups
Write to every hotel before starting any trip? inflexible/lack of spontaneity and just like doing a several months trip where Visas are needed from embassies (eg. Africa, north to south, west side and central countries), the trip might never begin if arranging 50-100 hotels, each for one night (or occasionally two nights)
Property might not be owned by Hyatt eg. Alua and Mr & Mrs Smith; and Hyatt says bookings must be made directly with Hyatt at an eligible rate. Considered extending Alua by one night, and front-desk team said they could book something , but would not receive nights and points. Probably the same situation with the Smith properties.
Funny thing with Alua property is that i had two nights, each one night reservation. And Hyatt's system didn't process it properly ...on two attempts. Fortunately i did not book an extra night while at the property, maybe it would have taken even longer for nights and points to be processed correctly.
