I have stayed at the Novotel ( now a Hyatt) several times. It is really convenient and has one of the best spas for massages that I have experienced, not just in Thailand but anywhere globally. The price varies wildly though, presumably based on occupancy but it is a very big hotel so I am surprised it would sometimes be fully booked. It also is in need of renovation of many of its rooms, they are comfy but getting a bit tatty.
Its great attraction was the 24 hour checkin-checkout period. I have not experienced this at any other hotel but it is a tremendous benefit for a place where you may be arriving and departing at anytime.
It’s failing is food! After various very poor experiences in a number of iterations of their various restaurants I would now rather walk to the airport and buy a sandwich!
It will be interesting to see if the change in brand results in a change in facilities and services.
