Passenger can choose hotel for the xx nights of stopover, amongst group of hotels, and price of airfare + hotel might be the same as airfare-only (eg. Doha Regency) or higher but at a good rate per night (eg. Doha - Park Hyatt). Did not see Doha Andaz as a choice.
Question:
As Hyatt loyalty member, do we receive credit for the stopover nights? Points for the hotel package cost above the basic airfare cost ?
Perhaps it is Qatar Airways that gets credit of Points (& nights) ?
I'm considering to buy the stopover and choose my own hotels (eg. one night at each Hyatt property vs all nights at one property), which then Points and Nights would definitely accrue to the loyalty member
Any thoughts / experiences?
Dubai vs Qatar .
... Dubai no / low tax ?? No way, hotels in Dubai can have 29-32% of taxes on top of the base prices quoted by hotel websites.
Would guess this falls under a “contracted room.” Here’s what Hyatt’s terms say regarding their ineligibility:
(A “contracted room” is a room that has been reserved pursuant to a written and executed agreement between a hotel or resort and a corporation, government agency, or individual for a negotiated room rate in exchange for an agreed upon number of rooms to be rented for an extended period of time.)
Or “bundled”
bundled package rates (i.e., where a room is booked in combination with the purchase of airfare, even if booked through a Hyatt Booking Channel);
Qatar might be able to provide clarity.
