Have a Tokyo Conrad three-night booking next month at 100,000 per night. In addition, I tagged on a free night certificate sent to me for spending $6,000 when I upgraded to an Aspire Card (plus they awarded me 175,000 points for the spend). Cheapest room at time of booking would be $805 per night (at today's exchange rate). My voodoo accounting rationalizing in my head, is that the four nights (after the new card bonuses) are costing me 125,000 points net, plus $400. The $400 is the annual incremental fee difference between the Surpass and Aspire cards. Moving up to Diamond from Gold I don't accrue as having any pecuniary value.
