I understand that when booking just a short-haul European flight. Only Go and Plus are available in that case, so mapping to economy and premium economy makes sense.

But when the short-haul leg is part of an intercontinental booking, the options are Go, Plus and Business. When booking business, all legs are ticketed as business. For example:

First leg
Aircraft Embraer E195LR
Operated by Sas Link
Booking class J
SAS Business Smart

Second leg
Aircraft Airbus A330-300
Operated by Scandinavian Airlines
Booking class J
SAS Business Smart
