Paid long-haul upgrades (premium economy to business) on Iberia

I'm travelling between MAD and EZE in June with Iberia, in premium economy (paid not points, but T).

I understand there are three ways to upgrade to business class, per https://www.iberia.com/gb/en/upgrading/ :
  1. on the website for managing the booking
  2. at check-in
  3. with the Seatboost app

My questions are:
  • they all say "if your booking supports this service", so how do I determine whether my booking supports each of these?
  • how much is an upgrade likely to go for (I'm particularly interested in EZE-MAD since that's overnight)?
  • is there any free way to determine premium economy and business occupancy on the flight (to guesstimate odds)?
  • for 1) do I just need to keep checking? When and where will the option to bid appear? Is it best to wait until the last minute before taking any offer?
  • for 2) do I literally just ask at the check-in counter? Or is it better to do online check-in? What if you want to upgrade the second leg (only) of a one-stop trip?
  • for 3) how well does this work and is there any technique for getting a good deal? Is it best to wait until the last minute before bidding?
  • which of the three ways is most likely to give an upgrade and most likely to give a good deal?
  • does having non-Iberia OWS status help (e.g. because everything else being equal they prefer to upgrade OW partners) or hinder (e.g. because they think you're richer than non-status people so bias the offer up) in any way?
