China Eastern - Upgrading at check in

Hi!

About to fly MU longhaul for the first time, BUD-PVG. Booked in J for myself and my wife, but hoping to upgrade to their "business plus" cabin (literally row 1 of their 787s J config). These seats seem to be more spacious that the rest of the J cabin.

I did try to upgrade online but MUs website is basically non-functional. I did call their CC to add our FQTV info to the booking (which they couldn't do) and asked about upgrades - they told me to try at the airport or onboard (?).

Hoping to get some info and hopefully 1st hand experiences from people who upgraded at checkin, ex-Europe, in terms of availability, pricing and the overall process.

Thanks!
