As an Explorist, I'd generally say no. There are a few nice perks (e.g. late check out), but room upgrades are generally sparse. I sometimes get a nicer view or a higher floor, but nothing of note. Also, I don't believe getting upgraded to a Club Room ever comes with Explorist status. However, if you rack up 30 nights you'll get a handful of Club Access Awards you can use to get access to the club so you can indirectly get Club access from time to time.

Thanks, that's helpful. The Club Access choice awards are probably enough for me - I'd only have a few stays a year with family where club access matters. I'll have quite a few business trips where it honestly doesn't matter that much to me.
I wish there was a way to augment a Cat 4 award cert with extra points like you can with Marriott, but other than that minor drawback I generally like everything so far this year with Hyatt. Most importantly, the hotels I've been in have been pretty nice and restaurants/bars have been open the hours they're supposed to be. That right there is a big advantage over Marriott and Hilton.
