Diamond. Week day stay.

I really like this place. I agree with almost all of the above - in a positive way. And for the price point, I thought it was excellent value.
I've only been to Dubai twice before and stayed at Al Maha Luxury Collection and Grosvenor House - both Marriott properties.

I booked King Heritage room Souq view and was upgraded to a King Heritage One Bedroom Suite. This suite was essentially two adjoining rooms with the inner doorway open. Almost identical foot print with the second room having a sofa and coffee table instead of the bed. Both rooms had a large terrace adjacent to each other but only accessible from inside the room because of the dividing wall. Love the aesthetic. Our room(s) was bright with the lights off. Cosy at night. I did not think it was dingy at all. AC worked well. Ceiling fan was perfect. Bed was very comfy.

Welcome fruit plate and bar of local chocolate 'freshly made'.

I have nothing to complain about.

The property does make me think of Disney. But it is very well done. The surrounding souq and hotel buildings are quite authentic. And you'd be hard pressed to distinguish the buildings from the adjacent historic area.

Aside from breakfast, we did not use the hotel facilities. Gym, spa and pool is still on offer at The Canopy - complimentary shuttle

Our room was in building 20? on the far west end. Super quiet. I'm a light sleeper and was not disturbed. Closing the shutters made the room pitch dark at night.

I will not hesitate to stay here next time I'm in Dubai. Likely, first choice.
We loved the area. Very walkable if you stay on the shady side of the streets.
Thanks you for reporting back. Good to hear everything is basically the same when I was there. I'll be going back in October for a couple of weeks. But also staying on the Queen Elizabeth 2 and at Hyatt over my two month trip. The Al seef heritage hotel is at it's best over the December/January during the shopping festival where live groups perform outside. I'm looking forward to returning.
