Unfortunately not. There is a thing called The Tariff, a document that explains exactly what you need to pay (as an individual or as a company).
Goods below a certain value in some categories are exempt, some aren't.
Some also need to pay VAT, some don't.
It's pretty hard to figure out.
I think muscat was being a bit cheeky and referencing recent tariff wars.
Food items are generally 0% duty 0% vat, but it depends exactly what they are and where they are imported from.
Since you haven't paid me to be a duty consultant I can't be any more accurate than that on Maple Syrup from USA.
But perhaps other contributors will be more generous
I have managed to import food from Singapore to UK and air processors from Germany to UK post brexit and managed to get 0:0 on both. But I get that not everyone wants to spend all their evenings researching this...
