Paris transit card - in advance?

I'll be in Paris for 5 days, and want to use an 'all you can ride' pass. I'll be visiting Versailles, but that would be the geographic limit, except for CDG. I will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express Canal Villette in the 19th arr.

- Do the passes cover subway/train/busses?

- Can the passes be purchased in the US? If so, do they issue a QR code for use, or similar?

- Do all of the stations accept this type of code, or is it best to have a physical card/pass? Or a combination of the 2?

I remember Paris Metro using small tickets with a mag stripe on the reverse, but that's ancient - although I did receive one of those just last Oct.... I visited briefly last fall, and found the self service machines pretty non-intuitive, and without a lot of knowledge about zones, etc, it was off-putting and I just went to the window for help.

Many thanks in advance!
