Booked and flew DFW-LAS return in domestic first on AA.
Based on their exchange rate, I'd expect 1110 tier points for the trip total, so 555 each direction since distance is equal.
Instead I got 538 outbound and 575 return (1113 total). Not sure how they split it. It was I outbound and D inbound, is that part of the calc somehow?

On a side note, these 1113 tier points are 5.57% of the way to gold, whereas the old 80 tier points would have been 5.33% of the way to gold. So if you way overspend like this it's very slightly better.
The uncertainty of not knowing how much you'll get until it posts is frustrating.
