Washington State's REAL ID solution is the Enhanced Driver License. Besides costing more than a regular (non-REAL ID compliant) license, it's only available for US Citizens since it's valid for crossing land and sea borders.

I passed on upgrading to one when I had to renew my license last year since I already have a NEXUS card, but the DOL made it very clear every step of the way that REAL ID enforcement was coming.
