As kauppias said, at least the partner card will be cancelled - the partner has no use for the TPs (gifted Gold) and the few Avios earned doesn't make the card useful. And of course out of protest.

For myself the 500TP is also a joke - instead of 4200TP now I can get 6000TP p.a.!

I am not sure if it was the geniuses at AY or Aktia who decided to cull the card earning rate. I suspect it was Aktia though. "Why pay 2x nn ¢/€ to buy Avios from AY? We could make nice savings paying just 1-1,8x nn ¢/€ for the same." And there's not one guy from sales who'd say "but we'll earn less merchant fees due to the cancelled cards" or ask "wouldn't people just go back to using their main banks' cards?"
