i would stay in those seats if i were you. You will be closer than if you change to 8G and 9K. The seat dividers are quite low. To be honest the 787 is not the best.

Would you consider swapping to the VS8 from LAX and connecting from SFO? Much nicer plane and seats especially for couples. Also you have the right to use the Delta One lounge in LAX which is one of the very best airline lounges in the US. The VS lounge in SFO is nice but not as good.

in any case you’ll have a great experience! The staff are all lovely
