Is the T3 mall within the secured area? Meaning can we wander around prior to passing through immigration or do you go through immigration and wander around then make your way to T2 for the domestic flight? Any way to make that transfer and stay within the secured area so we don't have to go through the hassle of security again?

Thanks all!
If it is all one ticket, no problem with lounge entry, once you scan your domestic boarding passes the system will know. But hang on to the boarding passes for the inbound nevertheless, or Murphy's law will make sure it is the day it fails. If you have not left the US yet, the AA lounge angels can probably print your JAL boarding passes.

When arriving in T3, you have to go for arrivals, immigration and customs. You can't stay airside. There is a mall and dining area landside in both T3 and T1. JAL domestic departs from T1. The bag drop in T3 is available until 60 minutes before departure of the domestic flight, cut of at the domestic terminal is passing security 20 minutes before departure. You can't avoid having the security check in T1 before the domestic flight
