A long, long time ago I had a Travelocity booking on AA that was never charged to my card. I called AA and Travelocity several times and was always assured everything was okay. On the day before the flight I happened to be at SFO and went to the ticket desk, and a friendly AA employee looked into it and told me it wasn’t ticketed, and I wouldn’t be able to fly without getting it fixed. We called Travelocity from my cellphone and they were completely useless, so eventually the nice AA agent called his own back office and they sorted it out.
This was a flight to go on a cruise and it would have been a giant mess if I had just shown up the next day at the airport to check in, as resolving it took a couple of hours…
I have never again bought any airfare on an OTA site unless there was no other way (Amex discount J fares), and I will never again believe any phone agent that everything is okay when there is no reason to believe that is really the case.
I doubt Condor will let you fly without paying for the ticket. Hopefully if this gets resolved, they will honor the price you were quoted when you made the reservation (the AA back office did in my case).
