This isn't true any more. The UK Gold line is now open 24 hours (I could show you the screenshot in "Please use your dedicated contact details below").
It certainly wasn't the case 18 months ago, but when I rang the US line in January at midnight I got through to someone which a British accent which was a surprise, I was expecting an Indian one
It's an important issue now we're losing Skype.

Since even the most estimable CWS seems confused on this, it's possible many of the chat agents are as well. Have a look at the contact details in your BAC page.
