Now it made me wonder if the flight they booked had stripped out certain business options and wouldnt therefore qualify for FB XP and miles.

If is is indeed booked in business standard with AFKL is will have lounge access etc etc so thats where the confusion arose. On looking at various OTA right now I still cant get the fare any lower than AF quoted me when I contacted them so simples, do it directly with AF rep, in this case anyway
