Just wanted to provide an update. We enjoyed our March Break stay very much, but we certainly didn’t get what will likely be the typical experience in the future. For the first 6 of our 7 nights there were only 30-40 guests, and no children, so it was quite serene. On our last night, a Friday, a lot of families checked in and the ambiance changed dramatically. We were glad that we had already decided to spend our 8th night at Sanctuary Cap Cana, an adults-only luxury resort, to be closer to the airport.
Private roundtrip transfers were indeed included for stays of 5 nights or longer—even for the entry level room I had booked.

maybe it’s just me, but the link is not working for me
when I looked at the reservations, it shows the very lowest rate does not have free transfers
it was not dramatically more to get free transfer so I could’ve done it. But when I went to look at the pictures of the beach, that was the dealbreaker. As a skin cancer survivor I’d like to have shade on the beach and that didn’t seem to be an option.
