Some NYC > LON flights are sub 5h 30 on a good jet stream day. So I can fully empathise with CE on a 5hr route. JFK isn’t a great comparison due to the sheer competitiveness, possibly the most iconic route in aviation and keeps BA in business, hence why they kept old Club World cabins for 20 years at great profit in the end. BA are heavily, unhealthy deep rooted in cost analysis and savings, so they will always sacrifice customer before experience.
