I don't really think MH knows very well what they are doing with this program. I put in a bid for KUL NRT and about a week before the flight, I got an email that someone had placed a bit higher than mine, urging me to place a higher bid. When I went to check the page, my own bid was listed as the highest. Then a couple of days before the flight, I checked again and bidding was no longer possible but there was an instant purchase option that lower than the bid I had put in. So I went for the instant purchase. In the end, I was the only one in the cabin, so if there had indeed been someone with a higher bid, then that person must have changed his mind.

On Tuesday, I have a flight that was just changed from A333 to A359 and all 4 business suites are available still, but it is impossible to place a bid, probably because they have failed to open the flight for bidding once the aircraft change was made. I will try my luck in the airport and see what happens.
