In Japan now and running into this problem with reloading my Suica via Apple Pay with Amex biz gold. The first day I had no problem loading the maximum of 20000 and quickly burned through it with big taxi trip, shopping, etc. the first reload worked fine but then reloading 20,000 stopped working. No issue with using IHG card to load.

called Amex thinking they put a fraud alert on it. They did, so I had it removed.

the reload never started working again. Called Amex and they said everything is good on their end and they are not rejecting payment. Tried loading via credit card directly on Suica app, it told me to use Apply pay (still not working). Then discovered that smaller reload amount of 10,000 worked. Yay. Then after a few reloads of 10,000, stopped working. Then same thing with 5000, 2000, and so on and now I’m down to reload amount of 500 and it finally stopped working totally.

i think it’s a problem in Suica’s end and I don’t know how to fix it. Annoyed that this block is not clearing with the nightly maintenance, cannot speak Japanese so I’m SOL and can’t ask customer service.
