I had the halibut with quinoa yesterday, and the fish was over cooked and a bit tough.
Caramel sauce is available for sundae, and yes you can get both cheese plate and sundae.
Mid-flight meals: words are usually better than reality. However, I have been surprised before. It is a hit or miss.
Egg bites at least give you protein out of the two mediocre pre-arrival meals.
No expresso.
I fly United for its amazing route network and great seats to sleep despite its below average catering.
BTW, Wine menu with nice selections.
Some on this board have noted improvement in catering since early 2023. I agree the improvement on choices but the quality is about the same.
I am lucky that I am IAD based, so I eat at Polaris Lounge where they do serve pretty good food, so I am beginning to skip the main meal on transatlantic flights out of IAD.
I have been skipping SFO Polaris Lounge before transpacific flights due to crowding and inconsistent food quality, but If you have the time, go to SFO Polaris Lounge early (3 hours before the flight) and have a sit down meal there to hedge the risk.
I shall temper the expectations. Thanks for all the info & help with the seats on that thread.
I've had food in Biz on quite a few other airlines in the last 5 years but I'm not sure I've had anything amazing. Certainly some better service than the US airlines. I had an inedible entre on CI, average food at best on BR (2 x), nothing memorable on JX (it was super short haul but still) & maybe the single worst meal on a plane on AZ from FCO to LAX.
I always felt Polaris food looked like sterile hostpial cafeteria food.......Here's hoping things have changed

You'll get the salad and the choice between the other two appetizers. You may be able to get both by request once everyone else has been served.
I prefer the halibut. Fish can be hit or miss those (in terms of being dry)
Caramel and chocolate from USA.
No problem, generally.
There are small tapas-style plates. You can try them all.
See how they taste first.
Both good, but the bread pudding is really a sugar bomb and I like the egg white bites very much.
Only regular coffee, though the illy isn't bad for airline coffee.
However, you can get a can of illy cold brew or an espresso martini cocktail.
The wine list has greatly improved and there's a new partnership with Heitz Cellar, which is an excellent wine brand.
Thanks Matthew, appreciate all that. Very pysched to try the Heitz Cab. The champagne even is a step up from what I remember 2 years ago. For a PBD will they serve the Laurent Perrier and will it be in a glass or just the plastic cup?
I'm going to roll the dice and go halibut... will I get an email to select it or it will pop up in the app? I'm closing in on a week before the flight if that has to do with it.
Thx for all the answers
