Things to do in town:
  • Giana is our go to for Italian in Dana point. Masion does French and has the same owners.
  • Rosewood Social, Mayfield, and Hidden House Coffee in downtown San Juan Capistrano. Heritage BBQ gets high reviews, but its overpriced and not consistent. Worth spending an hour or two walking around the area. Check out the Mission San Juan Capistrano in the winter when they are doing December nights.
  • Dana Point puts on a number of events through out the year. Retro markets, Farmers Market, car shows, whale festival, Ohana Fest, etc..
Thanks for all the recommendations. We loved Giana, Maison and Rosewood Social during our short stay! We will try Heritage BBQ and Hidden House Craft next time. The parking tips came in clutch, too. There was a long line of people waiting for valet that we conveniently skipped. Plus we saved the money. P2 doesn't do frou frou but even he had a great time. Can't wait to come back.
