If it were a departure from CDG for France-purchased goods, it would take a minute to use the electronic machine. Never once been asked to show the goods involved.
I don't know if these work for Italy-purchased goods.
You arrive in CDG from a "domestic" flight so you have access to the same machines as those originating in Paris.
