There are multiple mitigation strategies beyond an outright ban if one is truly concerned. Requiring all power banks to be held by consumers or just not in the overhead bin makes sense to me.

I'm not trying to be rude or dismissive, I want safe aviation, however I don't know how much safer this is truly making aviation compared to how much its an inconvenience to everyone (*crew included! no crew member I have talked to is happy about this)
So we wait for a plane to crash because of an onboard fire before implementing this?

I suggest banning, there is no way to police it before a flight so if a crew sees someone using one they kindly explain and store in a safe bag for the rest of the flight. This should considerably reduce the number on flights thereby lowering the risk.
