I find it hard to believe FB would risk taking such a drastic step, even if there is less and less competing programs in Europe that people could reasonably switch to (Volare being folded into M&M, Eurobonus eventually into FB and UX potentially also with AFKL investment, not to mention OK Plus closing last year.)

I'd be considering this as an alternative to XP runs to maintain Gold depending on the conditions.
