Emirates Skywards Hotels

Surprised there hasn't been a dedicated thread on Skywards Hotels, but taking my time to start one by saying: avoid them. They outsource the service to Rocket Miles and just all around unreliable.
  • Made a miles redemption booking for a hotel room.
  • The redemption confirmation email from Emirates landed, but there is no booking detail. I had to chase with Emirates Skywards Hotels to check if booking has been made.
  • The booking confirmation email from Emirates Skywards Hotels landed.
  • I double-checked with the hotel to find out that they actually made wrong booking (booked my lower type of room for the amount of miles deducted).
  • Raised it with Emirates Skywards Hotels to rectify, and they made the excuse that hotel is not responsive. I immediately tagged the hotel in the email and the hotel instantly replied but they will only deal with the direct supplier (apparently for the reservation Rocket Miles had used Expedia, which is interesting since they are part of Booking Holdings group. Did a Google and found out that the holding company had just laid off 60 people in the company earlier this year).
  • Finally they came back to say that issue is because of mismatch in systems and offer full refund (instead of working to change it).
Given how clunky the website is and the weird business process behind it that involves god-knows how many subcontractors, I am not taking the bait to risk losing all the room, cash, and miles, if they are not following through with the refund promise.

If anyone else has had different experience, I'd be keen to hear.
