Fun fact, I almost got IDB'ed for the Helsinki flight, as the gate agent would not accept my EU ID card as a proof of identity and demanded to see any passport to let me board the flight. I've never had issues at T5 when flying BA to Europe, but this agent would not back down. I wish agents were better trained, you can still travel to the UK using your EU ID card, as long as it's added to your settled status account. Travelling from the UK to the EU, you need to have documents allowing entry to the EU, so EU ID card is enough. UK doesn't do exit immigration, and even if they did, it would be before the gate anyway.
I am afraid there's no link between passport and settled status (however the ETA is indeed linked). As I understand it.
