DL683 SAN-JFK
Lunch
Got lucky and cleared into the last open F seat on the 76K 5 minutes before boarding so no pre-select; not sure how FEBO works on domestic widebodies but was in 7B and purser went back to front in the left aisle and then the right to take orders so had all 3 options available:
Jon & Vinny's Braised Meatballs Bianco DiNapoli marinara, garlic bread, Gioia ricotta
Thai Green Curry Chicken jasmine rice, stir-fry carrots, green beans, peppers, onions, mushrooms
Wild Mushroom Ravioli spring pea velouté, roasted tomatoes, artichoke, ricotta
Pilots kept the FAs seated for an hour and a half due to anticipated turbulence / mountain waves so I did not have high hopes for how the meal would look (and being BOS-based I keep forgetting how lucky we are to have Do&Co catering ex-BOS):
Curry was actually tasty (with a bit of spice to it) and a good portion, and the rice was not dried out so counting that as a win! Unclear what the mystery dessert is supposed to be (not listed on menu.delta.com) but it was berries and some kind of cream sitting on top of (or well half on top of, in this case) a thin layer of sponge and just ok. Salad was a little stale.
Friendly service from JFK-based crew, full PDB offered as well.
