I've booked many ANA award tickets in the past and have changed the dates....but this is the first time I've seen this from recollection (unless I just didn't really notice it before / price change was not significant enough for me to investigate).Last month I booked an ANA Business: SEA-HND-SEA in Business. I booked the return fully expecting to change it at a later date when that flight opened up on the schedule in 2026.

Sure enough it did...but I was surprised when I was asked to pony up another $125. I felt like I had to do it...but wasn't sure why. Brainstormed...then looked at the Credit Card receipt detail and saw the increase in YQ. Which triggered a memory of reading about ANA having fluctuating YQ. Just never realized it is based on WHEN the award ticket is issued, or re-issued in my case. (Read a few comments on FT now from the past re: this)
