As I was reading through the recent entries it occurred to me that for those who might be deciding between the various options in Manchester, it is quite well served (and it is one city where you can stay at all four main brands). Plus the three city centre properties are (in their own way) quite convenient and the HGI (which is, in any case, only a short tram ride away) has the secret sauce of being in the cricket ground.
As such for visiting the city, unless the rate is really substantially lower, I would not really consider the DT airport. I think it is really just an airport hotel, or perhaps for people who are visiting that area of greater Manchester for business, say.
I last stayed there 4 weeks ago and breakfast was served in the restaurant. I didn’t even notice the restaurant had been remodelled.
I have stayed at all 5 Hilton properties in the city and only stay at the DT Airport for early departures or late arrivals.
