I presume like most existing fabric airline seats, it will be fairly easy to remove the fabric seat cover and replace it. Thats what airlines currently do for soiled seats, for example vomit etc, the entire seat cover is removed and replaced. I guess then it can be properly laundered and disposed of if stained. I guess the hope is that the seat material is sufficiently liquid repellent so that wine etc doesn't absorb completely into the seat cushioning under the fabric.
From that aspect, it's perhaps easier to keep a fabric seat looking new for longer than a leather seat. I cant imagine leather is easy to clean and I have flown plenty of times on NZ aircraft where it looks like kids have tried to use the leather seat for a colouring in competition (with pen).
They could have chosen to recover the ex CX 77W seats yet they didn’t.
