Same thing happened to me just now - I tried booking a ticket online and applying the RUC at checkout. I had confirmed with dummy bookings for each segment that RUC availability existed.
First time I had ever tried this - always did it with agents previously. I hadn't looked at this thread first, or else I might not have bothered.
After booking the ticket, I really can't see any evidence that the system did anything at all in response to my ticking the RUC box at checkout.
I guess I'll call in, in the morning, hopefully get an experience agent.
