Yes, this is true.. I booked this flight and will actually fly this in a few weeks time. From my experience, seat selection seems to be complimentary for the normal Y seats for *A Gold. I am sure all usual *A Gold benefits applies as usual.
One of the cheapest fare out there for a full service airline especially compared to SQ - most probably due to it's very late arrival into SIN. (I noticed the SIN-KUL flight has quite a nice arrival time). Again a good option for cheap try of the SQ lounges if you want to lounge hop in SIN.
As usual for this short hop even on this exotic airline, J class did not seem that special - just a sandwich or something along the lines. (SQ and MH offerings seems better)
