I have had the same problem over and over with Finnair, but a couple weeks ago I got it to confirm an award in Y, and two days ago I was able to change it to J. Keep at it! I think the awards are just being booked very quickly and Alaska has a huge lag in updating their availability in search.
this has been a problem for me since last November or so. I occasionally still try but realize it’s a real and isn’t available. Then I go over to delta and book a flight home with a connection but it’s actually available
