I wonder if now they’ve effectively introduced the ability to buy tier points with Avios (à la Finnair) BA may become less profligate with them as compensation. They do seem to give them out like sweeties…..dirty tray table - here’s 10,000 Avios……food dreadful…….here’s 25,000. And these amounts seem to have been negotiable too.
Now you can buy tier points, and they are likely to introduce dynamic reward pricing, Avios are arguably a lot more valuable so BA might not be so generous with their compensation.
