I'm not looking to use points, so pretty much anything around 500 pounds/night is an option, though would need all 3 in one room as it's a girls' trip with mom. I have Diamond status so would like a lounge with good food, but it's not the top priority. Is the Metropole the best option?
I would recommend purchasing a ticket for the hop on hop off bus. When I visited London over 10 years ago, they had.a two/three day pass maybe still do. Since you indicated some of your guests haven't been, in my opinion it's the easiest way and hassle free way to see London and get off at only the stop(s) you want to see, and avoid random people approaching you on the tube or city bus. I recommend taking that hope/one-off bus for the entire loop first and then decide on the second and third go around over two days where to get off. I used the tube and the regular buses but thought the hop on off bus was overall better in actually seeing London from above. Either sit in the very front seat on the driver's side or the last seat in the rear for best views. And if they still have the 3 day pass I recommend buying it Enjoy your trip.
