Very good point, thank you for asking. We mainly want to see things like the museums, landmarks and things like Tower of London, Buckingam Palace, Westminster Abbey, etc. One of us has not been to London at all and the other two of us haven't been for several decades, so we plan on mostly the site-seeing stuff, not really interested in the theater at this time. We have a few nights planned in Bath, so we will do Stonehenge and such from there, not from London.
Given the mobility issue, why not plot on a map the various sites you are interested in? It will give you an idea of proximity and how best to organize your itinerary.. You will know how your mother can manage the travel better than any of us.
Although the Metropole gives access to transportation options, I imagine something more central might be a better option. Why not spend your time sightseeing rather than travelling to/from?
