What can I say what super regular guest Goldorak has not said already?

Overall a great return stay at this wonderful hotel. The hotel is meticulous maintained (no wear and tear anywhere which is quite something), rooms are very well appointed, and service is very high throughout. As Accor ALL Diamond member the stay was nicely enhanced by a room upgrade, welcome amenity and lounge access. The pool and spa were serene and in the case of the spa well priced. The only minor quibble was that the main restaurant Citadel could be better (range and food temperature). The French restaurant Mouhot’s Dream however was excellent.

In more detail:

The arrival experience could be be improved as we arrived when a large tour group was departing and the lobby was a zoo. I suggested that we do the formalities in the lounge which was much more serene. I used the hotel's service to the supersized new airport which unfortunately is much further away from the city. Last time it was Porsche Cayenne nowadays it is a Chinese electric car which was very spacious and still good service.

The room was upgraded to a junior suite (the same room type I stayed in before) and the rooms are fresh and exceptionally well maintained. It is rare to see this at a hotel that is not brand new. The welcome amenity fell below expectations but this was remedied after a quick chat with the GM halfway through the stay. Turn down amenities were a nice touch as was the "soap butler".

The lounge (which did not exist during my last stay) was a great addition. Located in the same space that serves at night as the French restaurant the lounge offered a peaceful space for breakfast and cocktails. The main restaurant can get busy (plenty of Mekong river tour groups staying at the hotel and it can get very hectic and US loud).

The concierge service cam through exceptionally well with arranging a temple tour of Angkor Wat. The sunrise tour was excellent (including a brief return to the hotel for breakfast).

A truly magnifique stay at one of the best Sofitel hotels in the network.
