I stayed at the 4PbSS15 last July and while I thought it was great for the price I paid, seeing how prices have crept up there and at the other mid-tiered Marriott properties in BKK, I would not stay there again unless they have renovated. I believe I paid around $99/night for a king room (not the basic one, but the one up from that) and was upgraded to a corner room. I loved the bed; free breakfast for Platinums+ was great, I thought, for a place charging what they were; free soft drinks/coffee/tea throughout the day; tuk tuk on-demand to the BTS; staff were lovely; and some free laundry made it all the more a bargain. However, the air conditioning unit in my room was belching condensation out, and there was one point where I thought the ceiling would cave in - the ceiling was soaked through; humidity levels in the room, as you might imagine, and throughout the property were insane; and the rooftop pool furniture was well beyond it's time to be retired (pool was also very small, and the bar up there was never manned). Seeing those corner rooms going for $170/night for a refundable rate in the height of summer this year just seems crazy when the Westin is under $200/night, and the SGS, JW, and Athenée are just hovering over $200; the W is under $200; and the Ren is at about $160. The Aloft is great, as others have pointed out, and Soi 11 is always great for whatever you want or need, but its prices have also shot up considerably.
