As we have enough avios, would the best plan be to book the outbound with the voucher and then separately book the return without the voucher two weeks later? Then call to have the bookings put together and the overpaid avios refunded, as I’ve done before with Amex 241?
I beleve that works, but I haven't tried it. When I phoned up to add a return, it showed as a new one way booking and then a refund of the excess rather than re-issuing the whole ticket. So that should work the same if you book it yourself and call up.
