So, I am platinum, and I am attempting to book a ticket, using my Avios, for another person, who has no status at all. The ticket is going to be economy, as there is no business availability, and will be from the US to SE Asia.

When I log into the website and go through the booking process, when I select the flights, there is this information about benefits included, which are lounge access and al-Maha service.

Eh?

Should I assume that the lounge access and al-Maha would only apply if *I* were the person travelling? Or does anyone using my Avios get these benefits?

The outbound connection is one hour five minutes, so I am thinking al-Maha might actually be worthwhile for someone who has never set foot in DOH (and who doesn't travel a huge amount anyway).
