I can see a similar question was asked up thread but without an answer.

Looking to book flights to GIG next Easter. Anticipating it being popular so will need to book outbound and return separately at 355 days.

As we have enough avios, would the best plan be to book the outbound with the voucher and then separately book the return without the voucher two weeks later? Then call to have the bookings put together and the overpaid avios refunded, as I’ve done before with Amex 241?
